The CPS - 1400 features two stages of filtration. A MERV 8 prefilter captures the larger particulates such as pollen, dust and mold spores. The MERV 11 filter captures particulates as small as one to five microns in size that pass right through furnace filters. If odors and gasses are a concern, an optional 1" carbon filter can be added.
